This document will walk you through encoding your product feed in UTF-8. If you followed the steps in this document and are having issues, please call into our main number, 866-849-0922, and a support technician will be able to assist you further.
Once the product spreadsheet has been formatted, you will want to save it as a CSV (Comma delimited) file type. On the product spreadsheet in the upper left-hand corner do a File > Save As
That will pop up a window where you can choose where you want to save the file. Select where you would like to save the file (it is recommended that you set up a folder for supplier spreadsheets, but your Desktop is always a quick and easily accessible option) and then drop the Save as Type menu down and select CSV (Comma delimited) like you see in the screenshot below:
Once you have the save as type set to CSV (Comma delimited), the last thing you will want to do is drop the Tools menu down and select Web Options…
On the window that pops up, go to the Encoding tab and then for the field that says “Save this document as:” drop that menu down, select Unicode (UTF-8) and then click OK.
This will bring you back to the original window where you can then click the Save button to finish saving the spreadsheet.
Once the spreadsheet has been saved, you can close out of it.
From your computer programs, open a new “Notepad” document.
In the upper left-hand corner of the blank notepad document, do a File > Open and open the spreadsheet file you just saved in the previous steps. NOTE: By default, it may only show you Text documents. In order to see the desired file, you may need to drop down the file type menu in the bottom right-hand corner and select All Files as you see in the below screenshot. Additionally, make sure the spreadsheet is the one saved as a Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File which you can also see in the screenshot below.
Once the file is open, in the upper left-hand corner you can go in and do a File > Save As. At the bottom of the window, you'll see a drop-down that says 'Encoding:' (see screenshot below), drop that menu down and select UTF-8. Once you’ve selected UTF-8, click Save.
Once you’ve saved, you can now log into your Warhead admin to import the product spreadsheet.
Below are the links to the Warhead help documents and training videos that will talk you through importing Products as well as Variants.
